Browse the links below to discover opportunities for connection and growth.

  • The Enhancing Student Learning Through Innovative Scholarship (ESLTIS) Conference is for all UK teaching-focused staff in higher education. But it’s more than just a conference. It is a supportive network of like-minded teaching-focused academics and academic developers. It provides a dynamic space for sharing innovative teaching practices, promoting scholarship in learning and teaching, and fostering collaboration amongst educators passionate about enhancing student learning. Excitingly, in summer 2025, the ESLTIS network will be launching a mentorship scheme specifically for teaching-focused staff in higher education. If you would like to find out more about this scheme, please contact Jenny Taylorson at [email protected]

  • T-FΨN (Teaching-Focused University Network) is a collaborative network of academics on teaching-focused pathways in Psychology and related disciplines. We aim to create a community of pedagogical practice, CPD, and partnership across providers. We intend to enhance the profile of Teaching and Scholarship (T&S) academics, by facilitating collaborative pedagogical research between members in order to solve issues in Higher Education from a psychological perspective.

The T-FΨN also have a YouTube Channel.

If you wish to subscribe to emails from T-FΨN, email the T-FΨN organisers.

  • Teaching focused colleagues are often in the minority at UK HEIs and so being teaching focused can be an isolating experience. We aim to challenge this by creating a national space to share good practice, helpful tips, scholarship, activism, information about publications, webinars, conferences and more, and for conversation, support and network building. We run online and in person events, and also have an active JISC email list which you can join here.

  • The Shining the Spotlight on Scholarship Website has been designed to support scholarship. Through this website you can find a ‘hub’ with links to multiple different resources relating to the scholarship of Higher Education, including a list of SoTL journals, an explanation of what SoTL is and how it has developed, and resources for those new to HE.

  • The St Andrews Education Identities in Practice Project is designed to support educators working within the broad field of Education. Whether you are an experienced professional or just beginning your journey, you’ll find a range of resources, discussions, and opportunities to enhance your practice and connect with others in the field. Of particular relevance to HE education-focused members of staff may be the podcast course ‘Identity and Inquiry: Reflecting on the Role of Research in Educational Settings’. Within the podcast course, the creator adopts an autoethnographic approach to explore the role, value, and meaning of research in education, seeking to better understand her own relationship with SoTL. Drawing on the social identity approach, she applies its theoretical lens to make sense of her experiences. The podcast is accompanied by a set of reflective questions and activities, designed to help listeners explore and deepen their own relationship with SoTL.
